Role (Purpose of the job)
- Complete machine specialist with focus on component, systems as well as application
- Responsible for system concepts and detailed solutions
- Hands on involvement in product development projects giving direction on concept selection and detailed design
- Interaction with supplier base and Volvo network
- Acting as mentor and supporting competence development
- Responsible for systems design, best practice and design principles
- Secure that concept selection is optimal from cost and quality perspective taking local production condition into account
Key Responsibility
- Link between Lingong R&D and VCE regarding complete machine and system design
- Technical sign off new product development projects with system area.
- Direction on component and system verification
- Setting dimensioning criteria
- Securing that system PRS is right for application
- Implementing state of the art design principles and engineering best practice
- Coaching of technical project management
- Active support in competence development
- Engineering Process Development
Main competence requirements
- Knowledge and several years of experience in machine product development of and/or wheel loaders, excavators and road rollers
- Knowledge in strength-, fatigue- and dynamic calculations
- Knowledge in hydraulics and electrics
- Good knowledge in English both written and spoken is essential
- Experience dealing with design and development problems and strong intuitive and analytic ability to resolve problem issue
- Experience of working in a international environment
- Good ccommunication skills
- Open positive attitude, target oriented, flexible and able to work with limited supervision
- Good ability to communicate and to work with people at different level since the network is broad both inside and outside the company
- Good co-ordination skills
- Master degree or equivalent in engineering
