On 11 October 2008 the first leg of Volvo Ocean Race starts in Alicante, Spain. It is the 10th time the prestigious round the world sailing race since its launch in 1972.
Eight boats will compete over 9 months and 37,000 nautical miles for crossing the finishing line first in St Petersburg, Russia in June 2009. Learn more in the Volvo guide to Volvo Ocean Race.
Volvo CE will use the event to strengthen the Volvo brand with existing customers and build relationships with new customers in these markets. The display in all ports includes:
