MK Diesel Particulate Filtration System

99% soot collection rate

The modular designed MK system is integrated into the exhaust system of the vehicle, typically replacing the original muffler of the vehicle or peice of equipment.  the filter medium is made of Silicon Carbide (SiC), a high-technology ceramic material.  The filter is able to collect the harmful diesel particles, with a filtration efficiency of 99%.  Having reached the maximum allowed backpressure, active filter regeneration, through the integrated fuel burner system, typically takes place after approximately 8 to 10 operating hours.

Active regeneration with diesel burner:
Independent from exhaust gas temperature.

To initiate regeneration, the on-board diesel burner is ignited by pressing a single button while the engine is shut-down.  Depending on the filter size, regeneration is completed in only 5 to 35 minutes.  About 0.02 to 0.2 gallons of diesel fuel are used for each regeneration with no additional release of NO2 or other secondary emissions.
