Program Information
Our training is in process with many improvements have been made to the extensive series of training sessions for this training season. Training sessions will be held at the Road Institute Training Center in Chambersburg, PA in the Cumberland Valley Business Park and at our Road Institute West location in Phoenix, AZ.
In its fourth decade of training activities, the Road Institute offers practical training for a variety of occupations within the HMA paving industry. We provide you with the important link between equipment technology and industry applications.
- The Operator Courses for the Volvo Blaw-Knox paver / finisher and Volvo compaction equipment, include both classroom and hands-on operation.
- The technical service training courses will progress from basic electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems understanding, to the development of comprehensive troubleshooting skills on the complex electronic, hydrostatic and mechanical systems used on contemporary pavers and vibratory compactors.
For the 2008 – 2009 Training Season, Dealer and Customers will now have separate classes. Please note the student designation column (D/C) on the course schedules:
D = dealer
C = customer and industry personnel.
Students must complete entire class to receive certificates - no early departures!
Course duration varies from two & three-day sessions on operation and maintenance, to four & five-day mechanic's programs. We have an extensive schedule of courses available, and class sizes remain small to permit hands-on training, with more personal attention between trainer and trainee. You will enjoy and appreciate our programs, so don't delay in signing up for the training you need to get ahead in this competitive industry.
