Paver and Compactor Operation & Maintenance

 

Objective:   To utilize applied training techniques to teach those persons with responsibility for the operation or management of contemporary paving equipment to correctly and safely utilize a paver finisher and compactor to their fullest potential while achieving the highest quality work without sacrificing production or increasing costs.

Who should attend: Any individual responsible for the laydown or compaction of HMA.

3. Preparing the paver to work
4. Instruction on the safe and practical 
    operation for paver finisher tractor
    and screed: 
         • Hands on paver set-up and operation
         • Joint Construction
         • Screed Operation
         • Troubleshooting mat defects

5. Explanation of how a compactor works 
6. Preparing the roller for work
7. Instruction on the safe and practical
    operation of roller / compactor 
         • Hands on roller set-up and operation: 
         • Joint compaction 
         • Vibratory system operation 
         • Troubleshooting compaction deficiencies

8.  Maintenance procedures

Duration: 3 Days (1 day classroom / 2 days hands-on)
