1956: Crossroads Truck & Bus Limited established
1967: Appointed Volvo Distributor for Yorkshire.
1972: Hull Depot opened – covering East Yorkshire.
1979: Charterhouse Merchant Bank take 30% stake in business.
1983: Sheffield Depot acquired – covering South Yorkshire.Thirsk Depot opened – covering North Yorkshire.
1986: New Depot built at Rotherham to replace old Sheffield Depot.
1988: Brian Emsley, Alvin Jarvis, 3i and Charterhouse take control of the business. Crossroads Commercials Group Ltd is formed.
1991: Alvin Jarvis takes majority control. 3i and Charterhouse maintaining large minority stakes.
1994: Birstall Depot opened incorporating Head Office. (Cleckheaton site is sold)
1995: Normanton Site – Managed at Shearings Coaches – responsibility taken as part of National Deal
1997: Tadcaster Facility – Responsibility for Courage Brewery site taken over, also providing extended coverage in the area.
1999: Stourton (Leeds) Facility – responsibility for Freightliner – Depot taken over, also providing extended coverage in the area. Taken over Lincoln territory franchise (formerly John Hebbs), with depots at Scunthorpe and Wootton. Responsibilities for managing an independent dealer point in this area (G. A. Smalley).
2000: Company restructuring providing Alvin Jarvis with increased majority control and Board of Directors with share holding, relinquishing 3i and Charterhouse of any control. Crossroads Group Limited formed.
2001: Crossroads took over the G A Smalley facility located in Lincoln
2002: In August 2002 we relocated our Wootton Depot to Stallingborough and our Scunthorpe Depot from Midland Road to Grange Lane North.
Our Used Trucks Department relocated to our Scunthorpe depot where a purpose built site was developed. November 2002 saw our Tadcaster facility relocate to Coors Brewery.
2005: We relocated our Thirsk depot to Boroughbridge.
April 2005 there was company restructuring as Martin Cronin joined as our new MD, and led an MBO with fellow directors. Ken Meddes joined as our Chairman
