Service is at the heart of the Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia and Volvo’s philosophy. Our staff often go the extra mile to exceed the expectations of our valued customers as well as going out of their way to support their colleagues.

Extra Mile Award winners enjoyed a reward trip to the Volvo cab plant in Northern Sweden.

We recently rewarded their team spirit and customer focus with a visit to the Volvo cab manufacturing facility which is located inside the Arctic Circle in Umea, Northern Sweden. This is the world’s first carbon neutral factory and provided a fascinating insight into how care for the environment is one of Volvo’s core values.

Nominations for the Extra Mile Award were received from a combination of customers (often by letter), peer group staff and managers. The 20 candidates for the visit came from the winners of the quarterly Extra Mile Award competition.

Also included was our Best First Year Apprentice, Daniel Izzard, who received a special customer nomination. Needless to say, the visit to Umea was enjoyed by all and the whole Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia team is working hard to go the Extra Mile for our customers in the months ahead.
