Staff at Volvo’s state-of-the-art new truck, bus and coach dealership at Bardon, near Coalville, Leics. are celebrating their move into purpose-built, ultra-modern premises on the Interlink Business Park.
The new Dealerpoint handles truck, bus and coach sales and service as well as used truck sales.
Officially opened in a ribbon cutting ceremony by Volvo Group UK Managing Director Göran Nyberg, the 9500 m² site features top class working conditions for all employees coupled with customer and driver facilities that include showers and a plush waiting area.
Located just a few minutes drive away from the M1 (Jct 22), the high profile premises replace the company’s old depot at Stony Stanton, near Hinckley, Leics.
The new Dealer premises, part of the wholly-owned dealer group, Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia, currently employ eleven highly skilled Volvo Workshop Technicians and Master Technicians. There are plans to expand this as business levels grow, says Dealerpoint Manager Patrick George. “We have invested in these facilities to enable us to deliver the best possible service to our customers in the Leicestershire area. We’re fully up and running and open between six in the morning and ten at night, six days a week.”
“Our employees are as delighted as our customers are at the great new workshops and parts facilities,” he added, saying, “We’ve installed lots of high quality new equipment in the workshop and the parts department plus a new security camera and gate entry system to help care for our customer’s vehicles while they are on the premises.”
In addition to the latest technology, such as the underground four post lift (which is capable of lifting a whole artic or coach) the 922 m² workshops have three drive-through bays, which is six work bays and one single work bay plus a dedicated tachograph bay.
The impressive list of new equipment which has been installed includes a pre-MOT inspection lane, headlamp beam tester, brake rollers and smoke tester. Full vehicle steam clean and pit wash facilities are a new service which was not available at the old Dealerpoint.
