Martin Merrick has been appointed Managing Director for Volvo Truck and Bus Centre - North.  He replaces Glyn Parker, who will retire after nearly 23 years in the industry.

The appointment is effective 1st July 2008 and Martin will be based at Volvo’s offices in Darlington.  He is currently Aftermarket Director for Volvo Truck and Bus Centre - Scotland.

Martin has been with Volvo since 1988 and during this time he has undertaken a variety of roles including sales, aftermarket and dealer management.  He has a background of more than 20 successful years in various positions in the trucks retail business.

Martin was born in Glasgow, he is 44 years and married with two children, to relax Martin enjoys playing golf and keeping fit.
