Hudson County Motors has been in business as a truck dealer of the White Motor Corp. in northern New Jersey since 1945. Shortly after we purchased Hudson County Motors in 1978, Volvo Truck Corp. acquired White Motor Corp. forming Volvo White Truck Corp. In 1988 Volvo White Truck Corp. formed a joint venture with General Motors Corp. forming Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corp. In March 1986 we were awarded the first Mitsubishi Fuso franchise in the United States. In April 1988 we became a dealer of Western Star premium trucks. In 1991 Mitsubishi Fuso earned first place in the ATD dealer attitude survey for all truck manufacturers and first place in the J.D. Powers customer satisfaction index for medium duty trucks. Mitsubishi Fuso has since earned the first place for medium duty cabovers in 1995 & 1996. Volvo earned this distinction in 1992. In 1999 Hudson County Motors became Volvo’s Dealer of the Year for the country. Soon, in 2000, Daimler Chrylser purchased Western Star Trucks with HCM retaining the franchise for North Eastern New Jersey. One year later, Volvo sold its Xpeditor Truck and the rights to the Autocar name to Grand Vehicle Works Holdings. Hudson County Motors was soon awarded the Autocar franchise. Under the present ownership we have more than tripled the volume of business, computerized our operations and moved to a modern facility. With the availability of Volvo, Mitsubishi Fuso, Western Star, and Autocar products and our professional staff, we have established an enviable reputation. We are indeed proud of our position in the industry and recognize that the efforts of every employee has contributed a great deal to our success.
