2009-01-16 Value & support are central themes for Volvo at Intermat

Volvo Construction Equipment will use its 3,800m2 (40,700ft2) of stand space to show how ‘more care’ is expressed in smart product design, fuel efficient engine technology, flexible financing – combined with a well trained, experienced and committed dealer network – makes Volvo a solid partner through good times and bad.

The company will also convey how Volvo innovations have a high performance impact on customer profitability – everything from advanced engineering solutions to mobile high-tech diagnostics that allow customers to accurately calculate their costs.

A wide range of products and services will be shown; including several new machines such as the ECR 305CL short swing excavator and the L45F and L50F mid-sized wheel loaders. Another highlight of Volvo’s participation at Intermat will be the company’s new-look road machinery product range, now marketed in the corporate livery of yellow/grey and carrying the Volvo brand.

In the Innovation area, one of the industry’s most talked about products will be on show – the prototype Volvo Hybrid L220F Hybrid wheel loader. This machine’s diesel-electric hybrid drive system is the first iteration of Volvo’s ongoing development process – but its improved performance and reduced emissions and fuel consumption are impressive indicators of the potential environmental and economic benefits such hybrid systems offer.

In uncertain times, customers visiting the Volvo stand will also be reassured by a dedicated Service and Support unit, where the CareTrack remote monitoring system, maintenance packages and Volvo Financial Services offerings have been gathered together into one area. Visitors will also learn how the Eco Operator programme represents a safer and more environmentally way of training operators, and there will be an impressive range of site simulators on display – for excavators, wheel loaders and articulated haulers.

26 machines will be arranged by application, highlighting Volvo Construction Equipment’s increasing customer segment focus, and demonstrating how Volvo machines are designed to work as ‘systems’ rather than in isolation.
