Sigma Trucks is the first foreign company into structure of Greek Industrial Concern Saracakis Group.

COMPANY PROFILE
The Saracakis Group of Companies is one of the longest established commercial and industrial concerns in Greece with a wide range of activities mainly in the automotive sector. The initial company was founded in 1922 in Thessaloniki. Nowadays, the Saracakis Group consists of 9 incorporated companies, each one successful in its own business field.

The Group’s head office is centrally located at 71 Athinon Avenue, in Athens. Company owned premises at Athinon Avenue, where the Group operates, among many facilities, the Industrial Division etc and within Greece, cover an area of over 200,000m². Company branches in Thessaloniki (Northern Greece), Larissa (Central Greece) are also in operation. The Group consists of two divisions: the Commercial and Industrial Division.

COMMERCIAL DIVISION
In the Commercial Division, the Group is for a long time the exclusive importer/distributor in Greece for various world famous products: Renault Trucks (France), Volvo Trucks, Volvo Buses, Volvo Penta engines (marine, commercial, industrial) (Sweden), all product lines of Honda Motor Co. Ltd. (Japan), passenger and commercial vehicles of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (Japan), mobile cranes and equipment carriers of Tadano Ltd (Japan/Germany), earth moving and construction equipment of Komatsu Ltd. (Japan) etc. It also operates as the authorized dealer of the Volvo Car Corporation.

INDUSTRIAL DIVISION
In the Industrial Division, the Saracakis Group specialises in the development, construction and assembly of commercial vehicles (buses of any type, truck-superstructures, trailers and semi-trailers). Several years ago, it has constructed 315 Urban Buses on the reliable Volvo B10M and B10MA chassis respectively, named “ALEXANDROS” for the city of Thessaloniki. Moreover, it has completed successfully the building of 120 articulated urban buses on Volvo B7LA chassis for the city of Athens, which are total low floor buses in their entire length. It was the first time worldwide that such a bus was manufactured. A further innovation is the manufacture of the first stainless steel bus in Greece, which eliminates the corrosion phenomena and thus prolongs the operational life of the vehicle. City - Intercity and Staff transport buses are now produced based on the technical know-how of Volvo, using the stainless steel technique. The industrial division is certified with ISO 9001 in the areas of development, manufacture, marketing and sales support. It is also certified for its quality specifications and controls.

The Saracakis Group’s accumulated experience acquired through its long and successful operation in the above-mentioned sectors for over 80 years now consists one of its most valuable assets.
