About Volvo Museum
Welcome to the Volvo museum where you will follow the history of Volvo and the development from 1927 until today. The museum exhibits products from the whole Volvo range, including cars, trucks, buses, construction equipment, marine engines, aero and many more interesting Volvo products.
New exhibitions
Volvo Construction Equipment has been updated with a few new vehicles. Volvo Penta has a new simulator where you can steer a boat equipped with Volvo Penta IPS (Inboard Performance system). Volvo Cars display their convertibles throughout the years. The Swedish innovation, the three-point safety belt, marks its 50th anniversary.
Exhibitions
We have developed a number of exhibitions, including the first vehicles, the ÖV4 car, the LV40 truck as well as the LV45 bus. You will also find prototypes and many other interesting Volvo products.
Among the prototypes there are also experimental cars, such as the VESC which proceded the 240-series, the first electric car, the concept truck ECT (Volvo Environmental Concept Truck) as well as the concept bus ECB (Volvo Environmental Concept Bus). Volvo Penta also exhibits its development of engines, from the early outboard engines to the current Aquamatic with Duoprop, and Volvo Penta IPS (Inboard Performance System). Volvo Aero shows among other things a radial engine, as well as the first jet engine used in The Swedish Air Force.
Besides vehicles, you will also find the work-table of the founders, Assar Gabrielsson and Gustaf Larson from the pioneer years. One part of the exhibition also shows how the company works when it comes to the environment and the importance of safety. Your exploration of the Volvo museum begins with a film about Volvos history – well worth your visit!
