Marcus, Forklift driver

1. How did you come to join the Volvo Group?

I got a summer job at Volvo Penta, Gothenburg -96, and the summer after that and then I was employed for almost 3 months to help them move the storage to Belgium. A couple of years later I applied for a substitute-job at Volvo Logistics that lasted for a year and it led to my full time job, which I have today.

2. Tell us about you current role and its main responsibilities.
Here at VLC I work at a department which deals with hub-activities. It means that we unload containers, store the goods and send it by call offs to the final users. The warehouse is built on the computer system MOVEX, and uses EDI for transferring but we also need to administrate both incoming goods and deliveries. We also handle General cargo from many of the companies within the Volvo group. We are just a few employees at this department and therefore everybody must be able to do everything, or at least be as flexible as possible otherwise it wouldn´t work. But we have a good team spirit and we solve problems on the way and as far as I know the customers are satisfied with the services we provide.

3. Have you had other roles and assignments in the Group? What would you like to do in the future in the Group?
As long as I don´t find a job I´m really interested in, within the Volvo Group, I will stay here because I really like the teamfeeling this department has with few workers and the work we do is far from monotonous.

4. How would you describe the culture of Volvo Group? ( i.e. what do you think is distinctive about how we do things in Volvo Group ?)
There are so many solutions to a problem, and I feel that regardless of background and experience you will have your ideas heard and evaluated. This means that you feel like you have become someone, and are not just another cog in the cogwheel.

5. Why do you think someone should consider working for a Volvo Group company?
The company wont set the limits for you, it´s you! Your ideas will be heard, you will get possibilities for education within the company and through this you will also grow as a private person.

Still proud to be a Volvo employee!
