The sale of Volvo Cars was the single largest event and the most important one financially during the quarter. It is with great satisfaction that we now note its successful conclusion.
1999 marks the beginning of a new era in our development. The starting conditions are favourable. Our business areas Trucks, Buses, Construction Equipment, Marine and Industrial Engines and Aero all have strong positions in the world market and, historically, have been more profitable than the passenger car business.
