The single most important event during the third quarter was the agreement with Investor covering the acquisition of Scania.
The acquisition is a logical consequence of Volvo’s concentration on commercial vehicles after the sale of Volvo Cars to Ford Motor Company in the first quarter of the year. Currently, a review is under way of Volvo’s application to the EU Commission regarding the acquisition of Scania. Within the next few days, information is expected whether the EU Commission elects to make a decision now or at a later date.
