Korea wins 2009 Volvo Masters Amateur world finalKorean dentist Choul Hee-lee was crowned 2009 Volvo Masters Amateur champion of the world after a thrilling world final in Spain, the first player from his country to take the title.
50,000-plus club golfers set out in search of one of just 48 places in the world final, playing over 200,000 rounds of golf, hitting almost a quarter-of-a-million golf shots and walking a staggering 2-billion kilometres around the golf courses of the world.
“I am very proud to win the Volvo Masters Amateur World Final,” said the newly-crowned champion, adding, “It is a great honour for me and my family, for Volvo Cars Korea and for my country and I would like to say ‘thank you’ to Volvo and to my fellow competitors from all over the world.”

the opening round of the Volvo Masters Amateur World Final takes place at La Quinta on Monday 2nd November, the second round at Finca Cortesín under Volvo World Match Play Championship set-up the following day with the world champion crowned at a special gala dinner that evening.
