The 2008 MERA conference, Sweden's largest venture to date in the development of production technology for the automotive industry, will hold their second program conference at the Scandinavian Technical Fair. MERA is an acronym for "Manufacturing Engineering Research Area" and the program is based on an agreement reached in 2005 between the Swedish government through VINNOVA and Nutek, the Västra Götaland Region and the vehicle industry through AB Volvo, Saab Automobile, Scania, Volvo Cars and Scandinavian Automotive Suppliers. Volvo Group will be taking active part in the MERA conference.
