Fuel cells will play a major role together with hybrid vehicles, where they will be able to replace the combustion engines that supplement electric power. This applies primarily to applications within the short distances where emission requirements are tough, such as inner-city buses and refuse trucks. When it comes to longer transport distances, we will not see diesel engines being phased out within the coming five to ten years.
