Truck deliveries – November 2003
Deliveries of trucks from the Volvo Group to date this year declined 3%, compared with the year-earlier period. Mack Trucks was down 23% and Renault Trucks declined by 7%. However, Volvo Trucks posted an increase of 8%.

Volvo Trucks receives order for 281 trucks from Sainsbury’s
Volvo Trucks in the UK has received an order for 281 trucks from the Sainsbury’s food retailer chain. Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2004.

Volvo Buses to close Aabenraa plant
Volvo Buses is to close its bodybuilding plant in Aabenraa, Denmark. The formal decision was taken yesterday 9 December by the board of Aabenraa Karosseri A/S. In all, about 200 employees will be affected by the closure.

Volvo Trucks secures major order in US
Volvo Trucks’ American subsidiary – Volvo Trucks North America, Inc – has received an order for slightly more than 4,000 Volvo VN 670s, a tractor version of the VN truck, from Swift Transportation, one of the leading transport companies in North America.
