Volvo Trucks in China

Wang Xinlan and Yuan Desheng are helping to build the new China. They own Beijing Walker, one of Volvo’s main Chinese truck dealers.

Wang Xinlan and Yuan Desheng acquired Beijing Walker in 2002, and are heading the expansion of Volvo’s Chinese dealer network. Their plant outside Beijing sets the benchmark for the standard of Volvo’s dealers.

Beijing Walker has a fully equipped workshop, a spare parts warehouse, sales facilities and a training centre for mechanics including a hotel for participants. Naturally, the plant complies with Volvo’s brand manuals and ID rules.

Rapid expansion
“We have strong belief in the future and know we’ve invested soundly,” say Wang and Yuan.

In just a few years, Volvo Trucks has established very strong presence on the Chinese truck market, and is expanding rapidly. The first plant opened in Jinan in Spring 2004, making Volvo Trucks the first European truck manufacturer with local production in China.

Volvo Trucks has long maintained a strong business relationship with China. Export took off seriously in 1997, but Volvo has been selling and delivering trucks to China since 1934.
