Setting the bar high
Regardless of size and location, all production units must comply with our minimum requirements of environmental performance and have an on-going improvement program.
The requirements include that energy consumption, waste amounts, emissions to air and water have to be monitored, as well as specifying maximum emission levels to air and water.
The most stringent requirement is valid
These requirements represent a first attempt to define minimum levels of selected parameters with a view to promoting more harmonised performance. Most factories are well above the minimum requirements, are ISO certified, report environmental data and show a steady progress.
The basic principle is that Volvo Group operations must comply with the relevant legal requirements or with the environmental requirements for Volvo Group Production, whichever are more stringent.
