Alcohols (in the context of fuel)
Refers to ethanol and methanol. Alcohols that are produced from biomass do not contribute to an increase in carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. They also produce less nitrogen oxides and particulates than standard diesel fuel. See ethanol or methanol for more specific information.
