The diesel engine is a very efficient energy converter.
Due to improved technology we believe that it will remain as the main source of power for a long time to come. With regulations and shrinking oil resources the technological development will soon reach a point where improved cleaning technologies will reduce nitrogen oxide emissions and particulates to sustainable levels.
The focus now is to develop even more fuel efficient engines as well as engines suitable for carbon dioxide neutral fuels. We are working across a broad front – DME engine, hybrids, gas engine, fuel cells – with development of future drivelines. The foundation of all development in our drivelines is the piston engine.
