The consumption of energy is increasing all over the world. At the same time, the available resources are declining.
In case of heavy duty vehicles, diesel fuel from crude oil will be the principal fuel for many years to come. In the longer term, however, we must switch to other fuels and sources of energy.
Volvo Group continuously evaluates and tests alternative fuels and drivelines. We do not believe in a single fuel for tomorrow, but rather a combination of alternatives. The alternative we choose depends, among other things, on availability, environmental impact and fuel efficiency. Cost and customer acceptance are also important parameters.
