Seven alternatives – with different prerequisites
The Volvo Group is studying and assessing all of the renewable fuels that could conceivably be used for the Group’s products.

Hydrogen can be mixed in a low concentration with biogas, in this case 8 percent by volume. Higher concentrations are also possible. Hydrogen can be produced through the gasification of biomass or electrolysis of water with renewable electricity. This alternative requires an engine with spark plugs.
