Baltic Sea Tour 2008
The sails are hoisted for this summer's expedition, Baltic Sea Tour. Since May 16 Götheborg is sailing the Baltic Sea. She will visit 15 ports, mostly swedish ports, but also Helsinki, Tallinn and Turku.

The story about East Indian Götheborg
In September 1745, the East Indian Götheborg headed for her home port after almost two years of sailing the world´s oceans. But the triuphant homecoming would end in catastrophe. With a pilot on board and before the very eyes of encouraging Göteborgers in small boats and on hte beaches, the vessel ran aground in the middle of the entrance to Göteborg harbour - and sunk with her entire cargo.
A new ship is being built
The first step in the exciting construction project was taken in June 1995. That was when the keel was laid down, becoming a symbol for the start of the actual shipbuilding process. The long awaited first sea trial took place in May 2005. And, in October 2005, for the first time in 260 years, an East Indiaman set sail from a Swedish harbour to embark on an expedition to China.
