8/22/2008Volvo finalizes deal with Eicher MotorsThe Volvo Group has now finalized the deal with Eicher Motors for the establishment of a new Indian joint-venture company, VE Commercial Vehicles Limited. The transaction has been approved by the necessary authorities and 50% of the joint-venture company has been consolidated in the Volvo Group from August 1, 2008.
8/14/2008Mack and Volvo Trucks launch North American optimization plan Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America have jointly formulated a plan for increasing the efficiency of their North American operations. The plan includes the relocation of Mack’s head office from Allentown Pennsylvania, to Greensboro in North Carolina, and a concentration of Mack’s truck production to the plant in Macungie, Pennsylvania. Implementation of the plan would mean that the Volvo Group would incur an estimated restructuring cost of approximately USD 60 million. The restructuring cost is expected to be recorded during the second half of 2008.

7/15/2008Volvo Aero and Rolls-Royce sign risk and revenue sharing agreement for Trent XWBVolvo Aero and Rolls-Royce have entered into a risk and revenue sharing agreement for the Trent XWB engine for the Airbus A350XWB aircraft, under which Volvo Aero will develop and manufacture the intermediate compressor case, a key engine component.
7/14/2008Volvo Aero to Partner with Pratt & Whitney on Geared Turbofan™ EngineVolvo Aero has entered into an agreement with aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney to join P&W’s Geared Turbofan™ engine program. Under this arrangement, Volvo Aero will be responsible for three major components for both the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) and the Bombardier CSeries aircraft engines.
7/11/2008Volvo Group enters into a SEK 6.2 billion loan agreementVolvo Treasury AB (publ), a subsidiary in the Volvo Group, has successfully entered into a SEK 6.2 bn (YEN 110 bn) cross-border syndicated loan agreement. Volvo Treasury has decided to use syndicated lending in this case as a means of diversifying its funding source.
