Over the past two decades, emissions from heavy duty diesel-powered vehicles has seen a dramatic reduction. In October 2006, a strict new legislation (Euro 4) was introduced in the EU. This will be followed by an even stricter legislation in 2009, called Euro 5. The Volvo Group will meet the challenge with modern diesel-engine technology and exhaust gas after-treatment in the form of SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction). This is the optimum solution for meeting tomorrow’s emissions requirements while at the same time satisfying our customers’ high demands on performance and transport economy.
