Volvo Standard Packaging is a returnable packaging program that provides comprehensive global solutions for many industries.  Using the right combination of package sizes, the re-usable Volvo packaging system allows improved optimization of shipment volumes. Volvo Logistics owns the materials, and customers basically lease them.

Within the Volvo Packaging system, we use a wide range of packing materials that meet industry standards:

Wooden containers: Available in a multitude of lengths, heights and widths, the frames are collapsible for easy assembly and breakdown. Once broken down, the frames also allow optimal trailer utilization for shipment and return of packing material. Volvo wooden packaging is clearly marked “KD-5630” kiln-dried, and is certified for shipment globally, meeting all European and US regulations regarding infestation.
Volvo pallets: High-strength plastic blocks are incorporated to ensure the best possible method for material handling. Volvo pallets are rated to withstand 2,000 pounds capacity, providing protection that far exceeds industry standards.
Plastic bins: Designed to accommodate lightweight, dimensionally smaller parts.
