After five and a half years of overseeing operations in Australia, Peter Hertinge, President and CEO of Volvo Commercial Vehicles Australia, has announced he will return to Sweden to work in the Volvo Trucks International Division.
The VCVA Board has appointed Arne Knaben as Peter's successor, commencing 1 September 2009.
Commenting on the appointment Peter Hertinge said, "I am very pleased to hand over such a strongly performing business to Arne, and look forward to introducing him to our customers, staff and partners across all business units in Australia."
Arne Knaben will relocate with his family to Brisbane, from Denmark, where he currently works as Managing Director of Volvo Truck Centre, Denmark. He has extensive executive experience in the Volvo Group.
Arne Knaben will report directly to Bjorn Ingemanson, President International Division, Volvo Truck Corporation and indirectly to Ron Huibers, Senior Vice President International Operations, Mack Trucks. The role is a permanent member of International Division Management Team.
Peter Hertinge will remain in Australia until the official handover in September.
