Dynafleet is a custom-designed fleet management system that monitors driver performance, fuel consumption and vehicle tracking. The new version of Dynafleet will be available as a complete solution - in three packages - depending on the individual needs of each company.
"We have developed a more complete solution in order to further increase flexibility and profitability for the customer, as well as improve the overview of the vehicle fleet", explains Gary Bone, General Manager Volvo Trucks.
The new version comes in three different packages, ‘Perform', ‘Perform & Locate' and ‘Operate', with varying levels of services that can be used individually, or simultaneously for multiple industry applications.
- Perform offers driver and vehicle management. Dynafleet Perform is the package for customers that want to take full control over resources such as fuel and AdBlue consumption, and it also monitors service intervals and environmental impact.
- Perform & Locate is suitable for operators with a transport management function, as it includes a system for pinpointing the exact location of each vehicle - in addition to all of the functions offered by the Perform package.
- Operate is the ultimate fleet management package. It provides a function for direct communication between the driver and the office, as well as service plans, maps and messaging. Another valuable feature is the driver performance reporting that facilitates driver development.
"These new packages are designed to serve the individual needs of our clients. It is easy to get started and the system is very user-friendly. The new Dynafleet will, more than ever before, assist customers to increase efficiency and become even more profitable," said Gary.
New functions that have been added to Dynafleet include Geofencing, which enables automatic detection of the position of a vehicle within a certain geographical area.
The Dynafleet in-vehicle hardware is also new and has more capability than its predecessor, thanks to increased memory and a faster processor.
Gary Bone said that more than 37,000 Dynafleet units have been sold around the world to date.
"This take-up is a testament to the return on investment that Dynafleet provides. In Australia, we see a growing interest among transport companies to get clear and accurate data on their operations.
"With the new version of Dynafleet we believe more companies will discover how an advanced transport information system can contribute to profitability and provide a competitive advantage" he said.
Dynafleet is available to order in Australia from 1st June 2009, with deliveries from September.
