In traffic safety, Volvo has a long tradition as an active contributor to society on both global and local levels. As early as in the 1970s we were working jointly with Swedish public agencies and organizations to promote issues such as the wearing of seat belts and the provision of in-car safety systems for children.
Since then we have continued to be active in many different projects, partnerships, education and research efforts. We have continued to communicate both-ways with representatives from many areas in the society: authorities, politicians, trade associations, unions, special interest organization, universities, fleet owners and drivers to mention but a few.
Because by sharing our knowledge, as well as learning from others, we can make more efficient and appropriate safety solutions. And this goes not only for our product development, but for all safety issues related to our customer offers and the transportation business at large.
