“Volvo in India has placed strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and we are always building on our strong after-sales network to back this process. Our aim is not only to provide our customers with the best products but also offer the best support behind them. We have over 70 Volvo support points behind our customer’s trucks & buses in the country and hope to aggressively expand the same in the coming year, to keep up with our growth. “commented Eric Leblanc, MD, Volvo India Private Limited.
The service centre is equipped with all Volvo special tools & various systems. The mechanics at the centre are trained through a month long course carried out at Volvo Competency Development Centre in Bangalore. The service centre is also integrated into Volvo system through applications such as LDS (Volvo Local Dealer System – overall workshop & parts administration) and LPA (Logistic partner Agreement – A tool for dealer parts inventory management).
In India, Volvo has been a pioneer in initiating on-site support for its mining customers along with the concept of Service & Parts Agreements, Volvo Preventive Maintenance and a 24-hour Action Service Helpline – a support system built to be proactive & to avoid unplanned stops on a Volvo, in the very first place. Volvo today, in India, has harnessed a rich experience when it comes to high-performance trucking and its support - across some extremely challenging terrain and applications.
“We understand the importance of Service & Parts support for our customers and the kind of application our trucks are used for. Volvo Trucks are among the very few which reliably operate in applications that demand a 20 hour work-day, extreme temperatures that can cross 50 deg C and where the environment can be highly dusty and gradients steep. Our Products, backed by the right service & parts support, are built to achieve such high performances and we work to minimize any unplanned stops. Typical uptime of our trucks on sites and highways are far higher than what is typically expected. And we continuously work to improve our performance” Elaborates Eric Leblanc, MD Volvo India Private Limited
