Dhansar Engineering Company (DECO) entered the Volvo’s elite Centurion Customer Club today with the delivery of Volvo’s 100th Tipper truck to the company at the Volvo plant in Hoskote, Bangalore. This is another milestone for Volvo Tipper Trucks in India which enjoys a strong partnership with its customers and a high preference when it comes to demanding applications such as that in the mining operations.
DECO, one of the fastest growing mining contractor in their segment and a pioneer in contractual mining has grown from a humble player with a single excavator to a 1000 MINR company in the last 35 years. The company’s association with Volvo has not only provided them high performance, high utilization vehicles but has also increased productivity making mining more efficient and economical. Today DECO plays a catalyst in the turnaround of the BCCL mines and is able to complete 90 % of its projects much ahead of due dates.
DECO, one of the key operators for the turnaround of Bharat Coking Coal Ltd. (BCCL) has to continuously rise according to the demands of the customers. In a continuous attempt to make the site operations better DECO has benefited from the Volvo Operation Advisory Program and now saves fuel and maintenance costs by approximately 10 % which is remarkable as the 100 tipper trucks at site operate for over 19 hours, all year round. Volvo Operation Advisory Program (VOAP) is an initiative to support, advice and consult customers to make the site operations even better. Under this program a Volvo team (including both sales and service) spend two days on site equipped with the VOAP guidelines, supported by customer inputs and by practical observation on-site a list of suggestions and discussion points is compiled. Tools like Driver training and Dynafleet Trip Manager, the online computer analysis tool on vehicle trip parameters help compile the improvement actions.On the occasion of key handover ceremony to DECO, Mr. Leblanc, Managing Director, Volvo India Pvt.
