Volvo in India today extended its sales and service support network with the inauguration of a new service & part facility in Western region. GMS Motors, the newly appointed service dealer, is located on the Mumbai – Ahmedabad road and is one of the largest Authorized Service Dealer in India now. The launch of the new service & part facility is in line with the company’s growth plans for the region. With this step Volvo can now extend better support in terms of responsiveness, delivery and turnaround time to its bus customers in the region.
The new service & part facility by Volvo is an effort to be the customers’ most preferred business partner with the country’s best after-sales support. The service & part support offers systems such as the Volvo local dealer system – an overall parts and workshop administration tool, Logistic Partner Agreement – a tool for dealers’ parts inventory management and Volvo Genuine Parts which are key component to keep Volvo machines in their peak performance.
The GMS Motor’s service and parts centre located on the National Highway, 20 kms from Borivili is the second complete workshop from Volvo near Mumbai. Operating from over 3 acres area the facility has over 18 bays – 10 for maintenance and 8 for body repairs along with various other facilities on hand.

Currently, the West region Volvo has 17 support locations for Volvo Trucks & Buses, including site-support. In Mumbai specifically, Volvo has over 1000 Volvo Trucks & Buses in operation. The Volvo Buses operating in the area are high-performance Buses which operate about 16 hours a day, doing 18-20000 km a month, year-long. After sales support & parts delivery becomes even more crucial for these Volvo products which offer such high productivity & performance levels.
