Volvo FM400 8x4 tippers use Volvo’s D13A 400 bhp engine, a modern 12.8-litre, in-line, 6-cylinder engine with turbo and intercooler. The full-size cylinder head has an overhead camshaft, four valves per cylinder and electronically controlled unit injectors.
The engine offers high torque and now an even wider engine speed range, compared to its predecessor, for excellent driveability. D13A offers even better opportunities to reduce fuel consumption, is lighter, and complies with Euro 3 requirements.
