Vehicle warranty

Volvo Truck Corporation’s warranty for vehicles covers defects in material and faulty workmanship existing at the time of delivery or coming into existence during the warranty period.

Warranty service can only be performed at Volvo authorized Dealers.

The warranty does not cover defect in material or the faulty workmanship, for which warranty is invoked, resulted from:

  • The driver failing to comply with the Volvo Truck Corporation’s applicable manuals and other available driver’s information or failing to receive approved driver training
  • The vehicle being used in a manner other than that which is normal or having been rebuilt or modified or where its superstructure has not been mounted in accordance with Volvo’s valid instructions
  • The vehicle being overloaded
  • The vehicle being involved in an accident, subject to misuse, or in any other way subject to external strain
  • The vehicle not having been operated in accordance with Volvo Truck Corporation’s valid instruction regarding Warranty service, Basic Service and Annual Service not been carried out at correct time and/or mileage intervals
  • Service or repair work having been performed by a workshop other than one authorized by Volvo Truck Corporation
  • The use of oils, greases or coolant other than those approved by Volvo Truck Corporation
  • The defect/fault having become aggravated to the failure by the driver to take immediate action after such time as the defect/fault became known or should have become known to the driver or after activation of the vehicle’s warning indicator system

 

The following are not regarded as defects:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Repair or adjustments, which constitutes normal maintenance
  • Normal use of consumable parts
