Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  What is Trip Manager?
A:  Trip Manager is stand-alone fleet management software for downloading, tracking, and reporting of vehicle performance on Volvo engines only.  Information is downloaded directly from the Engine Electronic Control Unit (EECU) to a personal computer (PC) via a datalink.

Q: What are the benefits?
A:  Trip Manager allows fleets or other trucking companies to monitor and manage key vehicle data such as:  fuel consumption, idle time, PTO time, top gear usage, cruise control usage, vehicle overspeed, engine overspeed, just to name a few.  For some customers, it can replace the need for Cummins Road Relay with Volvo engines.

A:  Four types:  Trip, Total, Trend and Service.

Q: Where can I see some sample reports?
A:  Go to the Sample Reports section of the Trip Manager web page.

Q: Is Trip Manager data transportable?
A:  Yes, the data can be exported/imported to and from other PC's using the Trip Manager software.

Q: Can Trip Manager data be exported for use in other software applications?
A:  Yes, both Trip and Total data can be exported to a "comma" delimited file to allow use in other software applications such as Microsoft Excel and Access.  Competence in these other software applications is required to transform "raw" data from Trip Manager into a format, which permits further analysis in the chosen application.
