2009-07-02 Volvo Group launches new program for cooperation with universities and colleges At a ceremony held mid June, the Volvo Group’s Academic Partner Program was launched as a global program for research cooperation with selected universities and colleges. The Volvo Group aims to establish long-term partnerships with the best universities and colleges worldwide in the field of automotive research. Three colleges in western Sweden were the first to join the collaborative program. 2009-06-29 Vijf Volvo-trucks met Bronto Skylift-hoogwerker voor Brandweer Haaglanden en Roermond Onlangs hebben Kenbri Fire Fighting en Volvo Trucks overeenstemming bereikt over de levering van vijf identieke hoogwerkers aan de Brandweer Haaglanden en Roermond. 2009-06-23 Milieuvriendelijke Volvo FM’s voor de aanleg van milieuvriendelijke installaties Draaijer Grondboringen uit Elburg heeft onlangs twee Volvo FM bakwagens aangeschaft. De Volvo’s worden ingezet voor het transporteren van boorinstallaties en graafmachines voor de aanleg van milieuvriendelijke aardwarmte installaties. Het betreft Volvo FM9 trucks met 380 pk, I-Shift en geproduceerd in de CO2 neutrale fabriek in Gent. Later dit jaar worden nog eens twee voertuigen afgeleverd. Volvo’s milieuvriendelijke aanpak, de goede service van Volvo-dealer Harbers Trucks uit Harderwijk en de al eerder opgedane ervaring met de Volvo FM serie zijn voor Draaijer redenen geweest opnieuw voor Volvo-trucks te kiezen. 2009-06-19 Volvo Trucks deliveries May 2009 The total deliveries from the Volvo Group's truck operations in May amounted to 9,446 vehicles. 2009-06-16 Volvo’s Globetrotter viert 30ste verjaardag Toen de Globetrottter-cabine in 1979 werd geïntroduceerd, rekende Volvo op een jaarlijkse verkoop van 400 cabines. De cabine werd echter al snel een razend succes. Dit jaar bestaat het cabinetype 30 jaar en zit op negen van de tien nieuwe Volvo FH trucks een Globetrotter-cabine. Nog altijd is de leidraad van het Globetrotter concept de chauffeur een verblijfsomgeving van wereldklasse bieden. 2009-06-15 Dutch team 9th place at VISTA 2009 – the world's biggest competition for workshop personne Austrian Team Impact stood as winners after the finals of VISTA 2009 on June 11th. Dutch team Bluekens Breda 1 was 9th. Out of 3 455 teams from 70 countries 28 remained in the finals that took place in Volvo Trucks Training Centre in Göteborg, Sweden. In a tough field the teams impressed with both their practical and theoretical skills and claimed the title as winners of VISTA 2009. 2009-06-12 First delivery of the world’s strongest truck The factory gates open and the first Volvo FH16 700 appears. An eager Tore Aase from Norway is there to take delivery of the world’s most powerful series-manufactured truck. On Norway’s hilly west coast, the truck’s power will come into its own. 2009-06-09 Eight future-oriented projects to be partially financed by Swedish Government The Swedish Energy Agency is to contribute SEK 87.6 M to eight of the Volvo Group's research projects that are aimed at reducing fuel consumption and emissions of greenhouse gases from commercial vehicles. Several of the projects are related to projects that are partly financed by the US Department of Energy and are being conducted by the Volvo Group in the US. 2009-06-08 New Dynafleet gives transport buyers better control over their cargo Where is the cargo and when is it expected to arrive? Now transport buyers no longer have to call the haulage firm every time these questions arise. Instead, they can obtain detailed information about their cargo on the Internet at any time. This is one of several new functions in the latest version of Volvo Trucks’ transport information system, Dynafleet, which is being launched today. 2009-06-05 The driver in focus for Volvo Trucks’ new Traffic and Product Safety Director The interaction between the driver and truck lies at the very heart of Volvo Trucks’ world-leading safety work. “With increasing numbers of advanced support systems in the trucks, it is more important than ever to focus on the person behind the wheel”, says Volvo Trucks’ new Traffic and Product Safety Director Carl Johan Almqvist.
