VOLVO EXTRA LOW HEIGHT ARTICS FOR BRIAN YEARDLEY CONTINENTAL
Six new Volvo FH-480 Euro 5 low height tractor units have entered service with Featherstone, West Yorkshire-based international logistics operator Brian Yeardley Continental Ltd. The new Volvo’s are operating with a fleet of brand new Krone ‘mega’ trailers hauling ADR freight, white goods and chemicals on Yeardley’s full load and groupage service to and from the Continent.

THE STIG PRESENTS VOLVO’S ‘TOP GUN’ TECHNICIANS AWARD
BBC Top Gear’s first ‘tame racing driver’, Perry McCarthy - alias ‘The Stig’ - was on hand to present the top prize at Volvo’s annual Technician Awards ceremony recently. The event was held for the first time at Stephenson College, Coalville, Leics in the smart new workshops and study area facility there.

HOUGH GREEN GARAGE KEEP THE NORTH WEST ROADS MOVING – IN STYLE
Widnes-based, Hough Green Garage has increased their fleet of HGV recovery vehicles with another prestigious Volvo truck. The new 6x4 Volvo FH-520 with 14-speed manual gearbox has been added to complement their other heavy recovery vehicles, including two other Volvo trucks - a Flagship Volvo FH16 and Volvo FM.

VOLVO TRUCKS WITHDRAW NOTICE AT GOTHENBURG ASSEMBLY PLANT
The management at Volvo Trucks and the local union have come to an agreement to deal with the challenge of low utilization at the assembly plant in Gothenburg. The agreement includes reduced working time and salaries and has made it possible to avoid the previously announced reduction of 335 jobs in Gothenburg.

Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North & Scotland have opened a new, state-of-the-art dealership on Teesside. The new Dealerpoint handles truck, bus and coach parts and service as well as new and used truck sales. Customers can also book annual tests at the on-site, VOSA-authorised MOT Test bay. To service tanker operators in the region, the workshop meets the latest regulations for all petroleum vehicles.
