The handover was performed in person by Volvo Trucks Managing Director, Göran Nyberg, together with Volvo's Dealer Development Manager Joe Roddy and Dennison Commercials Sales Director Tom Gourley.
"We have been running Volvo for over forty years now," says the company's founder and Managing Director, Norman McBurney. "We like the current range and operate around 200 Volvo's. Dennison Commercials were holding an open day; we really liked the look of the FH16-700 and the additional horsepower, so we added it to an existing order for around 50 new FH XL's."
The new truck's D16G engine is Euro-5 compliant and delivers its 700 horsepower via an I-Shift automated transmission. The Globetrotter XL cab is fitted with Volvo's Driving+ package - which includes electronic climate control, high-level instrumentation and leather trim. The truck also carries Dynafleet ‘Perform & Locate', offering online fuel, driver time and service interval monitoring, plus street-level mapping.
While all McBurney trucks bear the company's well-known yellow livery, this flagship wears a distinctive metallic black finish, complemented by Dura-Bright rims.
The truck will be serviced at Dennison Commercials' at their Ballyclare Dealerpoint on a three-year repair and maintenance contract.
"The support we've had from Dennison and (Sales Director) Tom Gourley has been great; Dennison have always given us excellent service," says Norman McBurney.
