The Euro-5 compliant tractor unit is fitted with an I-Shift transmission; its Globetrotter cab is finished in ‘Prestige' trim, featuring a refrigerator, CD player and climate control system. It joins nine other Volvos on the Carter fleet, of which they comprise around half.
"We've been running Volvo since day one," says Peter. "We started in 1979 with an F7 - a very good truck! Volvo continue to offer quality; they're one of the best trucks on the market. Driver opinion is very important to us, and our drivers certainly rate Volvo highly. At the moment, Volvo also represents the best deal from a business perspective."
Peter's working relationship with the Dealer is another key reason for his adherence to the brand. "We've always had good service from them, and our relationship goes back to when they were still Duffield's. Some of the people there have been with us since we set out."
He continued, "For our 25th anniversary, they laid on a trip to Sweden. Presenting the new truck on the actual day of our anniversary this year - October 1st - was their idea. The champagne and flowers were typical of them, a personal touch that really makes a difference !"
