Our optimized fabrication of titanium fan/compressor structures and nickel-based turbine structures, realized through our advanced computer weld modeling, makes these structures 10-15% lighter than conventional single-piece castings.
Moreover, we have also developed our fabrication processes to high levels of automation. Such automation is important, not only for reducing costs and improving robustness, but also as
enabling technology for achieving the most optimized fabrication concepts, of which many are not even possible to weld manually.
Since it is more material-efficient and timesaving to add stock instead of machining it down, we utilize metal deposition, using powder or wire, to build features like flanges and bosses. This also ensures stronger and lighter structures.
